Gardai are advising commuters to plan accordingly.

Commuters are being warned to expect widespread disruption around Dublin from 7am as truckers block the main arterial routes and parts of the city centre.

They're protesting over the rising price of fuel and say its severely affecting their business.

The group, which named itself The People of Ireland Against Fuel Prices, say they will continue protesting until there is a resolution to the issue and have warned they are prepared to remain in place for at least a week.

Already the southbound bore of the Dublin port tunnel has been closed as traffic is blocked around the East Wall area.
