Students with Dyslexia are not being allocated individual readers when it comes to the state exams says a local expert.

A Leitrim support worker believes the Department of Education is failing dyslexic students at both primary and secondary school level.

Anne Bohan from Drumshanbo says some pupils sitting this year's Leaving and Junior Certificate have not been given an individual reader despite being recommended one by an educational psychologist.

She claims the Department have also made several policy changes which hinders students from gaining additional supports.
