Over 600 new and second hand cars were sold locally last month.
Statistics for cars sold in the Shannonside Northern Sound region have been released by the CSO for the month of August.
Figures released show a total of 608 cars were sold across the region in August.
Roscommon saw the highest sale of cars for the month with 171 cars sold.
Of these 84 were diesel, 70 were petrol and 17 were Electric.
Closely behind was Monaghan with 157 car sales.
These included 89 diesel, 53 petrol and 15 electric cars.
Cavan also had high sales for August which saw 143 cars sold in the county. There were 74 diesel, 56 petrol and 13 electric cars purchased.
Longford and Leitrim had the lowest sales locally for August with 74 and 63 cars being sold respectively. There was 76 diesel, 40 petrol and 21 electric cars sold between both counties.
Nationally there was 11,981 cars sold. This was a sharp decrease from Julys figures which saw 16,030 cars sold across the country.R
