Longford councillor Seamus Butler is criticising Irish Water for the lack of information on the current boil water notice.
The notice was issued on Wednesday evening of last week after it was noticed that the quality of the water had deteriorated.
Over 17,000 homes and businesses including Longford town are affected by the notice and Irish Water has issued a statement this week to say they are continuing to work to resolve the issue.
