A special CPR and defibrillator demonstration will be held in Longford this afternoon.
The event will take place between 12 and 3pm at Longford Shopping centre
Longford Ambulance Service will show how the timely use of CPR and AED can a save a life in an emergency.
Automatic Emergency Defibrillators are portable, simple to use devices that are used to help restore a normal heart rhythm following a sudden cardiac arrest.
Longford Gardaí will also be in attendance to help raise money for the Operation Blue Light Santa charity campaign.

Community Garda in Longford, Emma Kiernan says local charities are benefiting from the much needed funding:
“This year Longford ambulance service joined us in our fundraising endeavors And we've organized a number of events, which will be held during the month of December.”
