An emergency meeting of Ballinasloe area councillors is taking place today over the closure of the Arrabawn Dairy near the town.
It was announced on Friday that Arrabawn Co-Op in Kilconnell will cease processing operations by Summer 2023.
While half of the 110 staff on site are due to transfer with the business there are fears for 55 workers.

Local representatives have also raised concerns regarding the effect the closure of the processing plant will have on farmers in the region.
