Council to progress plans for heritage path linking Aughnacliffe attractions

The Part 8 Planning Application was approved at the July meeting of Granard M.D.

Longford County Council is to progress with plans for a path to link several historical sites near Aughnacliffe.

The council was given the green light to apply for part 8 planning for the path to link heritage and amenity sites in the north Longford area.

Approval for Part 8 planning was granted by the Granard M.D at its July meeting, with the public consultation process due to get underway shortly.

Councillor Gary Murtagh says there is huge heritage in the region and the local Colmcille community development group have very ambitious plans for the trails :
