It now costs between €50 to €70 for a GP appointment in the Shannonside region. In a report published by the Irish Independent, Roscommon is the most expensive county in the region to arrange a GP appointment with costs ranging between €55 to €70. Meanwhile, Leitrim and Longford GP's charge on average between €50 to €60.
The report states that people living in Dublin pay up to €50 more for an appointment compared to the rest of the country. The cheapest available in the country was found in Monaghan, with a GP charging just €30 for an appointment.
