Local have expressed concern over a planned expansion to a major inflatable water park in Athlone.
Bay Sports on the Hodson Bay outside of Athlone has applied for permission to construct several new marquees along with new inflatables on the bay.
However, some locals in the area claim that the proposed plans will mean a loss of access to a popular beach and safe swimming point on Lough Ree.

They say the plans breach the Roscommon County Development plan and should subsequently refused.
Local spokesperson, Fran Barnwell, says while the facility is an asset to the locality, the current plans should not go ahead:
