An Athlone Councillor is highlighting concerns over potential littering at the Town's marina, should onsite bins be removed as part of new council plans.
A notice erected at the site this week has notified locals and marina users that bins will no longer be provided at the facility going forward.
Bin services will be withdrawn from Friday the 16th of April, with no alternative system for litter collection yet in place.

Local councillor Frankie Keena says an alternative system needs to be in place before the bins are removed.
He says there can be no lapse is services as the marina is a key piece of tourist infrastructure.
