There were close to 5,000 Enterprise Ireland supported jobs in the Shannonside region last year.
The figures were revealed as part of a parliamentary question by Deputy Louise O'Reilly to the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Neale Richmond.
Longford had the highest amount of Enterprise Ireland supported jobs in the region last year with 2,392.

Roscommon had 1,671 jobs supported whilst Leitrim had the lowest amount in the region with 880.
Nationally, over 225,000 jobs were supported by 4,451 Enterprise Ireland companies.
