Roscommon County Council is still at the scene of what is being described as 'lengthy' oil spill on the R368 between Elphin and Carrick on Shannon.

Two crashes have been reported on the road this morning at an area known as Taylor's Turn.

No serious injuries were reported following the crashes but weather conditions are making the clean-up difficult and Roscommon County Council crew remain at the scene.

The road remains open Gardai are asking drivers to proceed with caution as the clean-up continues.
