The CEO of St Christopher's services in Longford is calling for this country to adopt a UK model which is being used to provide

The CEO of St Christopher's services in Longford is calling for this country to adopt a UK model which is being used to provide childcare for children of essential workers.

Derek Scanlon says while the government is trying to ensure crèche facilities for essential workers here, there's no provision for older children.

He says their service which supports people with intellectual disabilities will be affected again if their staff are unable to come to work because of lack of childcare.

The St Christopher's CEO says losing staff has a direct knock-on effect on the amount of support they can offer people who are already vulnerable…
