Almost €60,000 in cash , as well as €2,000 worth of cannabis and electronic devices has been seized in a raid by the Criminal Assets Bureau in a search operation across Roscommon, Westmeath, Galway, Mayo, Sligo and Cork.
The search operation was conducted yesterday morning by Bureau Officers supported by the Regional Armed Support Unit, Gardaí attached to Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon, Cork and Westmeath and the Revenue Customs Dog Unit.A man in his 40's was arrested during the course of the operation for an offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act, and was detained at a Garda station in Co. Westmeath.
He's since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
