Sheep farmers are to protest in Roscommon this morning over what they believe is a growing crisis in the sector.

The demonstration is being organised by the Irish Farmers Association and will focus on income concerns in the industry.

It's a follow on from a national meeting we had in Athlone there a few weeks ago and we had another one in Tuam last week.

There's a lot of anger out there among farmers and we understand totally why because the market is bad at the minute.

We've been calling for supports from the Minister and the Government for a long time now.

Unfortunately they've failed to act, the minister have to step up to the mark now, we need more market returns.
