Longford Senator Micheal Carrigy is calling on bank of Ireland to clarify the current operational status of their branch in Granard.
At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company closed and reduced services at a number of branches across the Shannonside region, including in the north Longford town.
The company has now confirmed to the Fine Gael Senator that they are concentrating on supporting services at larger branches and continue to see shifts in customer behaviour towards online banking channels.
They say their focus is remains on protecting the prioritised services across the currently open 161 branches, and telephone and online banking, while keeping all developments "under active review".
