Brexit uncertainty, flooding and maintaining income through scheme payments have been huge issues facing farmers this year, on top of the impact of Covid-19 restrictions.

That's according to Roscommon IFA Chair Jim O'Connor.

Mr O'Connor says the agriculture sector has been particularly hard hit with poor weather conditions and bad broadband connections compounding matters as farmers struggled to cope with lock down restrictions on attending marts.

Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound news, Jim O'Connor says the lockdowns clearly demonstrated the importance of quality broadband being rolled out consistently through rural Ireland.
