A Roscommon IT expert believes companies can't just rely on a basic anti-virus software package to protect them from threats on the internet anymore.
Seamus Quinn founded 'myITDepartment' in 2003 and the company has recently been merged with cloud computing firm Intuity Technologies.
He says that he was not surprised to see the HSE attacked by cyber attackers - and that there are several key entry points that will need to be examined and closed off as experts continue to rebuild the health system's IT network.
