The intense rainfall across parts of Roscommon and Leitrim has led to two separate incidents of flash flooding in Rooskey and Ballinaglera in recent days

Sean Rynn from Rynn's pub in Ballinaglera is thanking neighbours and the local Fire Brigade for their help in the aftermath of a flash flood on Monday evening.

Sean Rynn said by the time he got home from work on Monday the family run shop and pub in the Co Leitrim village was under three to four feet of water.

He said the heavy rainfall over a few hours on Monday afternoon led to local roads being seriously damaged as well as the flooding in the village.

Sean Rynn says the water came in so fast there was no way it could have been stopped, and neighbours were on hand as soon as it receded to help clear up.
