Attic Youth Project and Lanesboro Triathlon Club among groups awarded funding from Communities Integration Fund

Funding of just under €39,000 has been announced for the Shannonside Northern Sound region to assist integration projects during the pandemic.

The 2020 Communities Integration Fund was open to local groups that support the integration of migrant communities through activities that combat racism and xenophobia and promote intercultural awareness.

Six projects in the Shannonside region and three in the Northern Sound region have benefitted from the funding.

In Longford, Attic House Teen Project, the Mullingar Lithuanian Community, Throw Fire, and the Lanesboro Triathlon Club have all received funding of between €3,400 and €5,000.

In Roscommon, Ballaghaderreen Community Games and Friends of the Centre Ballaghaderreen have received €5,000.

Elsewhere, Cavan Cross Cultural Community is set to get €3,500 and Cosmopolitan Women's Group Monaghan and Fáilte Isteach Monaghan will receive €4,920 and €3,300 respectively.
