Athlone shop which sold winning €6 million lotto ticket revealed

Officials from the National Lottery will visit the two winning stores in Westmeath and Donegal later today.

An Athlone shop which sold a winning €6 million lotto ticket has been revealed.

The two winning tickets for Saturday’s €12.7 million Lotto Jackpot prize, were sold at Tuthill's Newsagents in the Golden Island Shopping Centra in Athlone and McCarron’s Village Shop in Quigley’s Point on the eastern shores of Inishowen, in Co. Donegal.

The National Lottery can also confirm that  both winners have made contact and arrangements are now being made for them to collect their life-changing prizes.

The shop that sells a jackpot ticket wins €15,000, but in this case it will be split with each retail outlet getting €7,500 each.

Joe Callinan, Manager of Tuthills in Athlone, says the news came as a shock:
