Local Gardaí are investigating an incident of criminal damage by fire, that occurred at a building site in the Monksland Industrial Estate in Athlone.
Two excavators and a small digger were significantly damaged during the course of this incident which happened last Thursday, the 18th of May.
The fire was extinguished by local fire services and a technical examination was conducted.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the M6 motorway east-bound between Ballinasloe and Athlone on Thursday 18th May between 11pm and midnight are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
