Athlone Castle is hosting various cultural events for this year's Heritage Week.
A number of exhibitions are taking place at the popular tourist attraction in the heart of the town which will continue until Sunday.
Free aural and visual presentations depicting memorabilia and stories from former residents of Athlone Castle will run throughout the weekend.

There are also bookable guided tours of the castle at 3.30 pm today, which will reveal the rich history of the location.
Scheduled for the final day of Heritage Week on Sunday is a free afternoon of poetry and prose at Athlone Castle at 4.30 pm.
