The higher planning authority have refused an appeal challenging the construction of a 24 metre high telecommunication mast outside of Longford Town.
Eircom Limited received permission from Longford County council for the tower to be located at Templemichael Business Park on the Ballinalee road.
The project received the green light in May, but was subsequently the subject of a planning appeal from Cignal Infrastructure Ltd.
According to the company, they have an existing 24 metre mast in the business park capable or supporting more services.
An Bord Pleanala have upheld Eircom's permission last week and subject to revised conditions.
One rules that no equipment on the new tower should interfere with any pre-existing telecommunication infrastructure in the area.
