Close to 2,000 homes were sold in the Shannonside region in 2022, a slight rise on the previous year.
New statistics from the Central Statistics Office show 260 million euro worth of property sales took place across the 12 months of 2022.
Roscommon leads the pack with house and apartment sales last year, with close to double the amount of either Longford or Leitrim at 903.
The total cost of house purchases in Roscommon last year came to 140.7 million euro.
That's followed by Leitrim at 540 and Longford at 515 sales, with transactions totalling 81 million and 73.5 million euro spent respectively.
Sales in 2021 totalled 1,918, with the next year seeing a slight increase.
The average cost of a home in the Shannonside Region during last year was between €147,000 and €156,000.
Nationally, 55,263 homes were sold to the cost of over 15 billion euro.
