Almost 200 homes built in Shannonside region so far this year

Close to 200 new homes were completed in the Shannonside Region in the first six months of the year.

Roscommon saw work finished on 87 homes in the last six months, followed by 59 homes constructed in Leitrim.

Longford recorded the lowest figure locally at just 37 homes finished since January.

187 houses were completed locally this year and increase on figures from the first half of 2022.

Nationally, there was a drop in the number of new completions in the second quarter of the year.

CSO figures also show the number of apartments completed fell more severely with a drop of almost 20 per cent compared to the same time last year.
