Leitrim has the highest figure in the region.

178 forestry felling licenses are currently awaiting approval in the Shannonside region.

Major delays in the process for granting the licenses are causing serious increases in the price of timber according to experts.

Nationwide, inspectors are currently working through 2,285 applications for forestry felling, with the price of timber is currently at an all-time high due to the issue.
