A Longford school gets the greenlight for new astro turf pitch

A Longford National school has received the go-ahead to construct a new 3 astro turf pitch.

Scoil Eimear National School in the town received the greenlight this week for the new pitch at the school at Templemichael in the town.

The school's board of management applied for the 60 by 30 metre pitch with ancillary metal cage and netting, with parents, students and local businesses raising funds for the project over the last year.

The plans have been granted with 4 conditions attached, including one stating the development should not adversely affect or impair existing land or road drainage.
