70 patients waiting for a bed at local hospitals

There were 70 patients waiting for a bed at hospitals serving the Shannonside region this morning.

60 of those were waiting at Sligo University Hospital, 36 in the emergency department and 24 in wards elsewhere.

At the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar, 7 were waiting.

While at Portiuncula University Hospital had 3patients waiting.

Nationally, University Hospital Limerick remains the country's most overcrowded hospital with 105.
