Fianna Fáil councillor Kevin Hussey is set to become the cathaoirleach of Longford Municipal District today.
He will replace his party colleague Uruemu Adejinmi at their AGM this afternoon.
Councillor Hussey will hold the role for one year and be paid an allowance of 6,000 euro.
