Figures published by the nursing union the INMO shows that the north-west hospital has the joint third-highest overcrowding figures in the country today.
The Midlands regional hospital in Mullingar is also experiencing difficulties today with 17 people at its ED waiting for a hospital bed.

Eight people at Portiuncula and seven at University Hospital Galway are also waiting for beds.
There is no-one at Cavan University Hospital's ED today seeking treatment.
