24 hour water outage in south Longford from this evening

A large part of south County Longford will be without water for 24 hours from this evening.

Uisce Éireann is scheduled to conduct urgent reservoir upgrade works in the area that will see service disruptions from 6 o'clock this evening to 6 o'clock the following evening.

Disruptions will effect areas such as Toome, Newcastle, Forgney, Abbeyshrule, Carrickboy, Ardagh, Moydow, Legan, Keenagh, Edgeworthstown and Ballymahon.

According to local councillor Paul Ross, Uisce Éireann are to provide a water tanker in Carrickboy, while Ardagh Primary School is set to close on Wednesday.
