16 local towns and villages to benefit from new streetscape enhancement fund

The scheme will see major cosmetic upgrades significantly funded by the State.

16 towns and villages across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region have been selected to benefit from a €7 million euro enhancement fund.

The Streetscape Enhancement Initiative allocates funds for the upgrade and enhancement of street facades and shopfronts to improve the look and feel of towns across the country.

Under the scheme, residential and commercial property owners will be provided with up to €8,000 to improve the facades of their buildings, carry out artwork and install features such as canopies and street furniture.

7 towns and villages have been selected to be eligible in Leitrim, the highest amount in the region.

Property owners in 5 Roscommon locations will be able to avail of the funds along with 4 areas in Longford.

Sligo - Leitrim TD and Minister for Public Health Frank Feighan has welcomed the funding announcement
