13 local schools take part in BT Young Scientist Exhibition

23 projects across 13 schools in the Shannonside region are taking part in the 2022 BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition.

Co Roscommon leads the way locally, with 14 projects shortlisted, followed by five from Co Leitrim, and four from across Co Longford.

Entries were received from over 2,700 students, and the shortlisted entries span 219 schools from 29 counties.

The head of exhibition Mari Cahalane says climate change and the pandemic feature in several projects with some diverse entries from the Shannonside region.
