There were 13 dog attacks on people in the Shannonside region last year. The figures were revealed by the Department of Agriculture this week. There were 8 dog attacks on people in Co. Longford last year whilst there were 5 attacks in Co. Leitrim.
The Department of Agriculture says there was no dog attack on a person in Co. Roscommon in 2024. The Department also revealed that there were 40 Sheep, Cattle, Poultry and other animals attacked by dogs in Leitrim last year. There were two animals attacked in Longford whilst there was no attack on an animal in Co. Roscommon last year according to the statistics.
