Strokestown bounced straight back into the senior championship, landing the Roscommon intermediate title by four points.
Second-half goals from Keith Murphy and Evan Moran helped Strokestown to a 2-13 to 0-15 vcitory for the 2022 senior champions.
Strokestown led eight points to three at half-time. Five unanswered points from Stephen Tighe (2pt), Colin Compton, Shane McGinley and Keith Murphy handed Strokstown ahead.
Éire Óg responded well in the second-half and reduced the deficit to a point within four minutes. Conor Cox 0-2 (1f) and a Brian Greene two-pointer.
However, Keith Murphy’s well-taken 39th minute goal turned the game.
A couple of excellent scores from Compton kept Strokestown in the ascendancy on the scoreboard.
However, Evan Moran’s 60th minute goal sealed the victory for Strokestown and the intermediate title.
