St. Brigid’s landed the Connacht club championship with a two-point win over Moycullen.
It was a ding dong end-to-end game. Moycullen raced ahead with Fiachra McDonagh finding the net after three minutes.
Having trailed by three points with 10 minutes remaining in the first-half, Anthony Cunningham’s men rattled off points through Ben O’Carroll and Conor Hand.
McDonagh shoting one over at the other end before Hand’s two-pointer left it at 0-8 to 1-5 for the break.
Brian Derwin nudged St Brigid’s in front for the first time a minute into the second-half.
However, the Galway champions would go back up by three with scores from Niall Walsh, Dessie Conneely (two-pointer) and McDonagh.
However, Cunningham’s side were level again with 10 minutes remaining. Brigid’s hit the front through a Paul McGrath point.
Dessie Kenneally and David Winn found points for the Galway champions as they led with four minutes of normal time remaining.
Indeed, the drama was just to begin. Ruaidhrí Fallon’s coolly taken goal put Brigid’s into the driving seat, 1-15 to 1-13.
