Leitrim bowed out of the Connacht U20 championship after Sligo came back for victory.
Sligo came back to score a 5-17 to 2-22 victory in Drumshanbo as Leitrim suffered their third defeat of the campaign.
In fact it was the hosts who started the brightest. Darren Cox and Jack Foley scoring goals in the opening seven minutes to put Leitrim 2-1 to 0-2 ahead.
A Paul Honeyman free, Ruairi O’Rourke and a Honeyman 2-pointer from play moved the hosts 2-6 to 0-4 ahead on 17 minutes.
However, back-to-back goals in the 25th minute from Connor Flynn and Tommy Ross saw Sligo hit the front. The defending champions leading 2-12 to 2-9 at half-time.
Daire Callaghan found the hosts net five minutes into the second-half. Goals from Flynn and Niland as Sligo moved onto win 5-17 to 2-22.
