The GAA inter-county season has come under renewed pressure due to the government’s new COVID-19 restrictions.
Under ‘level 3’ restrictions, the club championships have been put on hold but the remaining Allianz National league games and the championship are scheduled to take place.
Monaghan, Cavan and Donegal are all moving onto level four coronavirus restrictions from midnight (Oct 15th), with the GAA games getting an exemption under the "Elite" sports banner.
The Division 1 meeting of Monaghan and Kerry in Pairc Gratten Inniskeen will see the return of the action on Saturday at 2pm.
Northern Ireland has also tightened it's restrictions in light of a major increase in Covid 19 Cases.
A four week lockdown was announced there yesterday (Wednesday).
The 3 Intercounty football teams from the Shannonside Region are set to travel up North this weekend with Leitrim away to Down, Longford face Derry and Roscommon take on Armagh.
The CCCC last night also rejected Fermanagh’s request to postpone their Division 2 National League game with Clare in another sign of ensuring the competition will go ahead.
The Erne County have seen ten players contract COVID-19, while seven others were close contacts.
