Shane Quinn with Stephen Reynolds on the notes took an excellent 2nd place on the Birr Stages rally, the 2nd round of the Triton Showers National Rally championship. The Ford Fiesta pairing, were 5th after the opening 2 stages and moved into 4th place with a nominal time on stage 3. They then recorded the 2nd fastest time behind the eventual winner Josh Moffet (Toyota Yaris) on stage 4 before going quickest on stages 5 & 6 to move into 2nd spot. They maintained their fantastic pace through 7 & 8 before again setting a fastest time on the final power stage to secure the runner up spot a little over 6 seconds behind Josh Moffett and Keith Moriarity in the Toyota Yaris. Kevin Eves and Chris Melly completed the top 3 in their Skoda a further 4 seconds back. The Cavan pairing of Aaron Mc Intyre and Darren O'Brien were the best of the modifieds as they took an excellent 9th overall in their Toyota Starlet finishing 100th of a second ahead of fellow Breffni driver Jonathaon Pringle in the Ford Escort.
