Roscommon and district league round-up

Premier Division side Dunmore Town just missed out on a place in the FAI Junior Cup round 4 losing out to Sligo/Leitrim Champions Cartron United.

The Dunmore side took a 2-0 lead but were eventually beaten 3-2 by a very good Sligo side. Padraig Martyn and Raman Saman scored for Dunmore.

In the FAI Women's Shield Ballaghaderreen beat Dunmore town 2-0.

Played on a lovely calm sunny day Ballaghaderreen were on top from the off. Their pressure on the Dunmore defence led to a penalty on 12 mins which was duly dispatched to the net by Rebecca Finan.

The Ballaghaderreen dominance continued for the rest of the half but didn't result in any further goals.

Dunmore got a bit more into the game in the early stages of the second-half but gradually the winners started to dominate the game.

Tori Duffy hit a screamer from 25 yards to the top corner of the net to secure the win, 16 minutes from time.

Castlerea Celtic second side won the Division 2 Shield with a 2-1 win over Boyle Celtic “B” at Lecarrow.

Boyle took the lead through Callum Andrews after 16 minutes. However, Shane Kilkenny and John Farrell scored for Castlerea.

In the Premier Division Cup, Skyvalley edged out neighbours Moore United 4-3 at Taighmaconnell.

The game finished 4-3 in favour of the hosts. Mike Garvey scored three and John Feehily one for the winners with Charles and Jack Nevin and Jay McPhilbin replying for Moore United.

Skyvalley Rovers Are away to Ballymoe in the semi-final.

Moylough land division one cup final

In the Division 1 Cup Moylough edged out St Johns “B” in a penalty shootout after their game finished 2-2 after extra-time.

Leo Donnellan and Dermott Hughes scored for the winners and Camin Boland and Charlie O’Beirne replied for the Lecarrow side. The shootout ended 5-4 in favour of the Moylough side.

Cloonfad United will play Moylough in the semi-finals following their 3-0 win over Ballaghaderreen at Cloonfad.

Conor Flynn scored after just four minutes and added a second after 62 minutes. Daithi Gannon sealed the win with eight minutes remaining.

Cam Celtic / Dysart are through to the Killeens Sports Fields Division 2 Cup Semi Final following their 3 - 1 win over Castlerea Celtic “B” at Dysart. Davy Cunniffe Brian Monaghan and Dan Kelly scored their goals.

Boyle Celtic is

Boyle Celtics reserves team are also through thanks to a 4-0 win over Ballyboro on Wednesday evening.

The hosts scored three first-half goals at a pristine Celtic Park. Callum Andrews gave Celtic the lead on 37 minutes.

This was doubled just three minutes later as Colm Morris scored his third goal in three games with a fine finish.

Alfonso Barrios added his name to the scoresheet shortly before half-time. Barrios scored his second and Celtic's fourth early the second half to complete the victory.

The Carrick-on-Shannon side Carrick Town are also through to the semi-finals following their 4-1 win over Roscommon United.

Eoin Hamilton, Amas Toby, Michael Murtagh and Ross O’Shea for the winners and Kavana Donlon for the losers scored the goals. Glen Celtic received a walk over Ballinagare.

Division three cup quarter-finals

In the Division 3 cup quarter-finals. Cloonfad United "B" bear St Cuans/Ahascragh United 2-1 at Cloonfad.

Jack Reinhardt gave Cloonfad a 26th minute lead when he finished a Liam Fleming corner kick.

Ryan Fitzpatrick levelled for St Cuan's after a spell of pressure on 32 minutes with a volley to the roof of the net. Mark Feeney scoring the winner on 69 minutes.
