Longford Slashers claimed their first Longford senior hurling title in four years after a four point win over Wolfe Tones.
Michaál Mulcahy landed a 10th minute goal for Slashers which Wolfe Tonnes struggled to respond to. Slashers led 1-9 to five-points at half-time.
Mulcahy was pulled to the ground inside the 60 second-half seconds resulting in a penalty for Slashers. However, David Buckley saved Micheál Savage’s penalty.
However, there was no turn around for Wolfe Tonnes. Four Rueben Murray points including two frees helped sealed a 1-16 to 15-point win for Slashers.
