Louth defeat Longford by 11 points in this afternoons meeting played in Clones.
Kate Flood kicked 10 points as Louth booked their place in the TG4 All-Ireland junior final.
Longford that opened the scoring after six minutes when Sian Gallagher registered a point. Kate Flood added two frees but Longford responded through Shauna Hagan.
Eimear Byrne then found the back of the Longford net after 18 minutes of play. Mairead Victory was then sin binned after 26 minutes to further add to Longford’s struggles.
Louth extended the lead to 10 points after 40 minutes. Longford found the back of the net when Katie Crawford struck, but the goal was ruled out for a foul in the build-up.
Longford registered their first point of the second half in the 47th minute through Clodagh Lohan, their first score since the 14th minute. Louth kept pushing with three points from the boot of Kate Flood.
Longford attempted comeback
In the closing stages Longford got points through Clodagh Lohan and Kamille Burke but it proved little more than consolation. Louth were victorious on a score line of 1-14 to 0-6.
