Longford bowed out of the O’Byrne shield after a 10-point defeat to Wicklow in Bray Emmets.
Eoin Darcy, Sean Murphy and Darragh Fee found the back of the net for the hosts as Wicklow won out 3-15 to 1-11. The garden county had led 2-6 to 0-5 at half-time.
Cathal McCabe’s 38th minute goal made a three point game, however it wasn’t to be as Wicklow won out by 10-points.
Meanwhile, Carlow and Wicklow will meet in the O’Byrne Cup Shield final after coming through their respective semi-finals this afternoon.
Wicklow will now face Carlow in the O’Byrne shield final. Carlow saw off Laois, 2-15 to 3-9 in Rathvilly, where Colm Hulton’s brilliant late goal proved key for the hosts.
