Roscommon middleweight Lisa O'Rourke secured World boxing championship bronze with a unanimous victory over Armenian Ani Hovsepyan.
The victory secures a medal for O’Rourke and prize money of US $25,000.
O’Rourke will now fight for silver on Wednesday or Thursday this week. Tues May 17 is a rest day.

Earlier, Amy Broadhurst made it past the quarters for the first time in five attempts. Broadhurst got the better of Serbia's Jelena Janicijevic in their light welterweight bout. to earn Ireland their first medal at this edition of the championships.
