In inter-county managerial news Liam Sheedy has taken up a role within the Monaghan management team. The Tipperary two time all Ireland winning manager will be the performance coach for the team working alongside Seamus Mc Enaney and Donie Buckley who has remained on as Head Football coach. Monaghan retained their Division 1 status for a 7th consecutive year with a play off win over Galway while they lost by a point to the eventual All Ireland winners Tyrone in the Ulster final in Croke Park.
