Leitrim’s Kate Gormley has won The Croke Park Hotel/LGFA Player of the Month award for January 2026.
Gormley (20), has been in sparkling form to date this season. As Leitrim have claimed maximum points from their opening three Lidl National League Division 4 fixtures.
A newcomer to the adult intercounty grade this year, Kate, from the St. Joseph’s club, has shone like a beacon.
In the month of January, Leitrim claimed victories over Longford and Offaly in Division 4. Whereas, Kate, a graduate from the underage intercounty ranks, was very much to the fore with her attacking prowess.
In the opening day win against Longford, Gormley scored 1-6. Her goal was decisive as Leitrim followed up with another important victory, this time against Offaly in Round 2.
As Leitrim made it three from three last weekend, Gormley was on song again, notching three points in another impressive display against Sligo.
Leitrim have the coming weekend off. Whereas, they prepare for Round 4 of the competition and a trip to Kilkenny on Sunday February 15.
Gormley was presented with her award by Sean Reid, General Manager, The Croke Park Hotel.
