Leitrim were crowned Connacht intermediate champions as the brushed away the challenge of Roscommon.
Leitrim scored a 22-point victory at Heartland Credit Union Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada.
An efficient attacking performance coupled with a water tight defensive showing ensured Johnny Garrity's side got their hands on the silverware this afternoon.
The hosts kicked 1-7 without reply in the opening 18 minutes. Roscommon were left reeling, with Lauren O Dowd rifling the ball to the Roscommon net after 18 minutes.
Roscommon got off the mark through Megan McKeon. Whereas, Leitrim had their second goal when Lauren O’Dowd struck again with a fabulous soccer-style finish to the net.
Muireann Devaney kicked two scores late in the half, sending Leitrim to the break with a 14 point lead.
At half-time Leitrim held a commanding lead, 2-10 to 0-02.
Roscommon hit two points early in the second half, but the joy was short lived as Leitrim struck in 37th minute for their third goal when Leah Fox picked out Vivienne Egan, who placed the slotted the ball to the back of the Roscommon net.
Leitrim were in for goal again in the 42nd minute as Muireann Devaney, who found the Roscommon net again.
Roscommon for their efforts battled on for the remained of the contest but the contest was over long before the final whistle as Leitrim were crowned Connacht Champions.
Leitrim running out 22 point winners, 4-18 to 0-08.
