Four Roads made it four Roscommon senior hurling championship titles in-a-row after a nine point win over Oran in Dr. Hyde Park.
Indeed, Conor Mulry inspired Four Roads in the first-half as they led 10-points to eight at half-time. Whereas, Conor Morris scored 2-5 as Four Roads won out 2-18 to 0-15.
It's a 38th Roscommon SHC crown for Four Roads, who also had a six point contribution from Conor Mulry.
“I was delighted for that group there going up the steps. They've worked immensely hard all year” explained Four Road boss Michael Kelly.
“To be this side of the line and looking up there today, it's a great feeling” added Kelly. “But it's, as you say, it's a bit different to being one of the players there at the time”.
Indeed, the Four Roads boss was quick to praise Conor Mulry and Conor Morris.
“We’re lucky enough to have the two Connors. Their great intelligent hurlers. It was just a bit of smart thinking”. Morris “got inside as you said look at and he's a finisher”
“Every time he wants to go for the juggler". Kelly added "thank God he got the goal because up until that we were kind of struggling”.
“It's a great luxury to have when you have players like that. What to a man as a panel they've been immense all year”.
