Cavan referee hoping her historic appointment will encourage others to pick up the whistle

Margaret Farrelly has been appointed Referee to the Kiernan's Service Station Senior Championship Football Final Replay on Sunday next at 2:30pm in Kingspan Breffni. It will see the Laragh United offical become the first female Referee to officiate a Senior Men's County Football Final in the Country. Speaking to Shannonside/Northern Sound earlier today, Maggie remarked that she hope her appointment for the blue ribbon event in club football in Cavan would encourage others to pickup the whistle.
